ENTRY #6
Labeling GMOs
In the United States, labeling GMO is not required even though 80% of the food in the United States are genetically modified. In the 2012 ballot people would decide if they want GMO to be labeled. There are 21 countries and the European that has demand for the food to be labeled if they are Genetically Modified. There are many reasons why GMO should be labeled, but the most important one is that all the people deserves to know what is in their food. The other reasons could be that people that are allergic should know what they are consuming and also because of religious reasons which they may not want to eat animal, including animal DNA. I think this should change and they should label every product that are GMO. It should be changed because we have the rights to know what is in our food and if it is not labeled we do not know what it has and we don't know what we are eating. People that are against GMO would want to avoid GM food and would not want to take risk of eating GM food. They do not want to take the risk because they do not know what other genes the food may contain and what health risk it could bring to them.
Leticia,
ReplyDeleteI love how you put that picture in your post it truly helps me see what side your taking. I agree with what your saying about everyone deserves the right to know what they are consuming because it is the right thing to do. If food and products were labeled it would make many people's life different in so many ways. This is a great post you should leave this page up so many people can take a look at what you have posted.
